Tube Mill Delivery, Foundation Drawings and Commissioning

From tube mill contract to first tube: delivery time, layout and foundation drawings, site preparation, packing, installation, commissioning and training.

The short answer

Delivery: single machines from about 60 days, complete lines about 120 days, subject to contract. After the contract takes effect, we provide the equipment layout drawing and foundation drawings at the time agreed in the contract, so your civil work and workshop preparation can run while the equipment is being built. The equipment ships bare-packed, suitable for container transport, with rollers in wooden or carton boxes. On site, our engineers guide installation and commissioning and train your operators.

For overseas projects, the buyer covers the engineers' round-trip air tickets, visa, local transport, accommodation and insurance, and provides installation workers and lifting equipment. The engineer service charge is calculated per person per day and listed in the quotation.

Six stages from contract to production

  • Contract and technical agreement: configuration, finished sizes, roller sizes, power supply, layout direction and acceptance conditions are fixed in writing.
  • Layout and foundation drawings: issued after the contract takes effect, at the time agreed in the contract.
  • Manufacturing: while the equipment is built, you prepare foundations, utilities and lifting equipment from the drawings.
  • Packing and shipping: bare packing suitable for containers; rollers in wooden or carton boxes.
  • Installation and commissioning: our engineers guide your installation team and the commissioning on site; trial runs go from individual machines to a no-load run of the whole line and then a run under load, and the detailed steps and acceptance conditions are those in the technical agreement.
  • Training and handover: your operators are trained during commissioning; spare parts and rollers remain available afterwards.

What the foundation package contains

The foundation documents normally consist of three drawings:

  • Installation position drawing: elevation and plan views with the anchor bolt layout.
  • Power cable drawing: cable specifications and routing positions.
  • Water, power and air connection drawing: where each utility connects to the equipment.

Reading the foundation drawings

The drawings mark installation elevations, anchor bolt holes, embedded plates, concrete thickness and the positions of cable trenches or conduits. Embedded plates are normally supplied by the user. Installation elevations differ from machine to machine, so always take them from the drawings for your own project, never from another line.

If you are buying only the entry section for an existing mill, the strip center height of the entry section (about 900 mm, reference value) is checked against the pass line of your mill before the drawings are finalized. The difference is bridged by the accumulator's high turnover stand, with a two-roll pinch unit added after it where needed.

What your site prepares before installation

Reference figures for compressed air, cooling water and crane capacity depend on the model and configuration and are given in the technical agreement for your project.

Roller sets for the trial-production sizes are ordered with the contract and shipped together with the equipment; rollers are not included in the line price and are quoted per size. Apart from the rollers, the following should normally be ready on your side before our engineers arrive:

  • The workshop and overhead cranes.
  • Equipment foundations built to InGen MillTek's layout and foundation drawings, with the concrete cured.
  • An air compressor.
  • A cooling water pool or cooling tower, cooling water pumps, and cooling water for the HF welder.
  • Power cables to the equipment, and earthing.
  • Installation workers and lifting equipment.
  • Strip coils for trial production (your own material).

Packing and shipping

Machines are shipped bare-packed, suitable for container transport. Rollers are packed in wooden or carton boxes. The quotation and contract state the trade term and destination port; the number of containers depends on the configuration.

Installation and commissioning on site

Our engineers guide installation and commissioning on site and train your operators. Lifting and setting the machines is done by your installation team under their guidance.

A typical installation sequence: the machines are set on the foundations and aligned to the line centerline; anchor bolts are placed in the reserved holes and the machines are leveled; the holes are then grouted, and the bolts are tightened after the grout has set. Power, cooling water and compressed air are connected according to the connection drawing.

Trial runs follow this order: individual machines first, then a no-load run of the whole line, and finally a run under load. The detailed steps and acceptance conditions are those written in the technical agreement.

For overseas projects, the buyer covers our engineers' round-trip air tickets, visa, local transport, accommodation and insurance, and provides installation workers and lifting equipment. The engineer service charge is calculated per person per day and listed in the quotation. Dispatch is arranged according to the visa and entry conditions of the destination country.

InGen MillTek equipment has been exported to the Middle East, Africa, Russia and Central Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia, and our engineers travel abroad to guide installation.

Documents supplied with the equipment

Documents are supplied as agreed in the contract, for example:

  • Layout drawing and foundation drawings.
  • Manufacturers' quality documents for purchased components.
  • Operating manual with electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Assembly drawings and wearing-parts drawings.

Training and support after handover

During commissioning, our engineers train your operators on site. After handover, we continue to supply spare parts and rollers for new sizes; retrofits and repairs are quoted item by item.

Frequently asked questions

  • How long is delivery? Single machines from about 60 days, complete lines about 120 days, subject to contract.
  • When will I receive the foundation drawings? After the contract takes effect, at the time agreed in the contract, so civil work can proceed while the equipment is being built.
  • Who pays for the engineers' travel? The buyer covers round-trip air tickets, visa, local transport, accommodation and insurance. The per-day engineer service charge is listed in the quotation.
  • What must be ready before the engineers arrive? Finished foundations, the equipment on site, power and earthing, compressed air and cooling water, installation workers and lifting equipment, and strip for trial production. Roller sets for the trial sizes are ordered with the contract and shipped with the equipment.
  • Can I order rollers for new sizes later? Yes. We supply rollers and spare parts long term; rollers are quoted per size.
